The NORDAC ON/ON+ frequency inverters were developed for the special requirements of horizontal conveyor technology and for use with the new IE5+ synchronous motor (NORDAC ON+). They are characterised by an integrated Ethernet interface, full plug & play capability and a very compact design. The NORDAC ON/ON+ frequency inverters are a reliable and economical solution for IIoT environments.
Heavy loads, high forces, long travel distances and lower requirements for precision and dynamics are characteristic for end-of-line packaging. The use of decentralised drive solutions with controlled frequency inverters from NORD can achieve cost benefits of up to 50% depending on the type of system and application.
Due to their high inertia, NORD asynchronous motors offer decisive advantages for end-of-line packaging. When moving heavy loads, they ensure better (movement) control than conventional servo solutions that must be adjusted to the respective application via large gear ratios.
Advantages of NORD drive solutions:
We manufacture the new generation of NORD IE5+ synchronous motors in-house for use in intralogistics and in the food and beverage industry. Our motors are characterised by their compact, hygienic design in the smallest possible installation space, ensuring high corrosion resistance and easy cleaning.
Our optional SK TU4-PNS module offers additional safety. Safe inputs and outputs can be connected to the application via plug connectors. An encoder can also be connected to monitor the safe drive solution. In combination with a safety PLC, drive electronics offer reliable communication via PROFIsafe via PROFINET.
Functions such as Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Direction (SDI) or Safe Operation Stop (SOS) can be easily integrated to achieve SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) or PLe (Performance Level 3) Category 4.
With its NXD tupH® surface finish, NORD makes the surfaces of drive units with aluminium housings particularly corrosion-resistant. The NXD tupH finish consists of a base layer, which transforms the top layer of the aluminium body into a corrosion-resistant layer. The combination with a sealer achieves extreme resistance with better hardness compared to an untreated aluminium alloy.
This finish prevents flaking or corrosive infiltration, meaning that the protective effect remains intact even in the event of minor mechanical damage. The surface finish therefore offers major advantages when used in hygiene-critical areas in the food, beverage and packaging industries, as well as in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. NXD tupH® surfaces are PFAS-free and food-compliant in accordance with the FDA, EU Regulation 1935/2004 and the regulations of Switzerland and the MERCOSUR countries.
