Drives with centrally controlled servomotors are widely used in end-of-line packaging in the packaging industry. However, in applications with high inertia or long travel distances - such as palletising, stabilising or handling - these are generally not absolutely necessary. Decentralised drive solutions, for example with controlled asynchronous motors, represent an efficient and economical alternative here. Depending on the type of system and application, cost benefits of up to 50 % can be achieved.
The NORDAC ON/ON+ frequency inverters were developed for the special requirements of horizontal conveyor technology and for use with the new IE5+ synchronous motor (NORDAC ON+). They are characterised by an integrated Ethernet interface, full plug & play capability and a very compact design. The NORDAC ON/ON+ frequency inverters are a reliable and economical solution for IIoT environments.
We manufacture the new generation of NORD IE5+ synchronous motors in-house for use in intralogistics and in the food and beverage industry. Our motors are characterised by their compact, hygienic design in the smallest possible installation space, ensuring high corrosion resistance and easy cleaning.
Our optional SK TU4-PNS module offers additional safety. Safe inputs and outputs can be connected to the application via plug connectors. An encoder can also be connected to monitor the safe drive solution. In combination with a safety PLC, drive electronics offer reliable communication via PROFIsafe via PROFINET.
Functions such as Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Direction (SDI) or Safe Operation Stop (SOS) can be easily integrated to achieve SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) or PLe (Performance Level 3) Category 4.
Our aim is to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO). This includes all costs associated with the purchase, operation and recycling of a drive system. By using highly efficient technologies in conjunction with a consistent reduction in variants and standardisation, life cycle costs can be significantly optimised. NORD offers a wide range of innovative products and services to help you optimise the total cost of ownership of your system.
85% of the life cycle costs of a drive result from its operation: energy costs, administrative costs, service and maintenance costs, training and documentation, personnel costs, spare parts inventories as well as breakdowns and downtimes, but also costs for recycling and disposal. Aspects such as energy efficiency, operational safety, maintenance costs and variant reduction are therefore of central importance in TCO optimisation. The long service life and low maintenance requirements of NORD drive systems also play a particularly positive role in reducing overall costs.
NORD supports you in
An extremely effective measure to reduce the total cost of ownership is the use of highly efficient synchronous motors. These motors developed by NORD have an efficiency class that is in some cases better than IE5. The current standard in Europe is efficiency class IE3.
Save energy, optimise costs:
The NORDAC PRO is the frequency inverter for every drive task. The SK 500P basic version of the NORDAC PRO already offers great versatility. The SK 530P advanced version complements this scope and can be functionally expanded with SK CU5 option modules. The SK 550P has an integrated multi-protocol Ethernet interface for efficient connection to Ethernet-based control systems.
The DuoDrive is a revolutionary integrated geared motor concept with a hygienic wash-down design. It combines the highly efficient IE5+ motor with a single-stage helical gearbox in a single housing. With optimised system efficiency, high power density and very low noise emissions, it is particularly suitable for users in the intralogistics, food and pharmaceutical industries. Together with simple plug-and-play commissioning, this results in a significant reduction in the total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to other drive systems.
