NORDAC ON/ON+

NORDAC ON/ON+ VFDs were developed to meet the special requirements of horizontal conveyor technology and for use with the new IE5+ synchronous motor (NORDAC ON+). MAXXDRIVE® Industrial Gear Units

NORD MAXXDRIVE® Industrial Gear Units provide high output torques from 15,000 Nm to 282,000 Nm and are perfect for use in heavy duty applications such as agitators, conveyor belt drives, mixers, mills, drums or crushers.

Industrial gear units are available as helical gear units or bevel gear units. They are constructed with the UNICASE housing which was developed by us and can accommodate large roller bearings, which guarantee a long service life. By the way: NORD is the industrial gear unit manufacturer with the world's largest industrial gear units in a UNICASE housing.

  • Powerful: NORD industrial gear units offer very high output torques up to 282,000 Nm.
  • Long service life: Optimised geometries ensure excellent load capacity, long life and low noise.
  • Robust: Our industrial gear units are equipped with high quality, low friction bearings and an especially torsionally rigid one-piece UNICASE housing.
  • Flexible: The gear units can be combined with all of our electric motors.

PROFIsafe module for additional safety

Our optional SK TU4-PNS module provides additional safety. Safe inputs and outputs can be connected to the application via connectors. In addition, a rotary encoder can be connected to monitor the safe drive solution. In combination with a safety PLC, drive electronics offer reliable communication via PROFIsafe over PROFINET.

One can easily integrate functions such as Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Direction (SDI) or Safe Operation Stop (SOS) and thus achieve SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) or PLe (Performance Level 3) Category 4.

In customer projects, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS always aims to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the customer as much as possible. TCO includes all costs associated with the purchase, operation and recycling of a drive system. By using highly efficient technology in combination with a consistent version reduction and standardisation, a significant optimisation of life cycle costs is possible. 85% of a drive's life cycle costs are incurred during operation: Energy costs, administrative costs, service and maintenance costs, training and documentation, personnel costs, spare part stocking as well as failures and downtimes but also costs for recycling and disposal. Aspects like energy efficiency, operational reliability, maintenance costs and version reduction are therefore essential for TCO optimisation. NORD drive technology optimises TCO

A most effective measure for reducing the Total Cost of Ownership is the use of highly effective synchronous motors. Developed by NORD, these motors have an efficiency class that is sometimes even better than IE5. The current standard in Europe is efficiency class IE3.

The NORDAC PRO is the frequency inverter for every drive task. In the basic version SK 500P, the NORDAC PRO already offers great versatility. The advanced version SK 530P supplements this scope and can be functionally expanded by SK CU5 option modules. For efficient connection to Ethernet-based controllers, the SK 550P has an integrated multi-protocol Ethernet interface.

Powerful and low-maintenance

This geared motor offers a torque range of 180 to 50,000 Nm and takes up very little installation space thanks to the compact UNICASE housing. Like all other NORD bevel geared motors, the motor is available for configuration with an integrated brake at the rear.
