MAXXDRIVE® NORD industrial gear units are ideal for all heavy-duty applications. They offer high output torques ranging from 15,000 Nm to 282,000 Nm. The helical and helical-bevel gear units are housed in one-piece, torsion-resistant BLOCK housings and can accommodate large roller bearings. This makes them particularly robust and guarantees a long service life even under harsh operating conditions.
With our SAFOMI-IEC adapter, we further enhance the reliability of MAXXDRIVE® industrial gear units and make them particularly low-maintenance.

With the NORD ECO-Box, you get a detailed insight into the consumption of your system and uncover opportunities to reduce your energy requirements by analysing the results.
Primarily, the NORD ECO service shows the savings potential of your application in order to optimise energy consumption for lower CO2 emissions as well as cost savings. Our consulting concept is based on many years of experience in the production of electric motors and cooperation with customers from over 100 industries. This accumulated knowledge is continuously incorporated into the further development of our drives so that we can offer you suitable products for application optimisation.
High-efficiency smooth-running motors from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, featuring a hygienic and sealed design, offer several key advantages:
Thanks to their optimized efficiency (IE3 and IE5), they consume less electrical energy than motors in lower efficiency classes. This lowers operating costs and reduces energy consumption.
The smooth surface without cooling fins prevents dirt, dust, or bacteria from accumulating. This makes the motors particularly easy to clean and ensures they meet high hygiene standards (e.g., in food or pharmaceutical facilities).
The motor is fully enclosed and has no ventilation openings. This prevents water, cleaning agents, dust, or particles from entering the interior.
Since there is no fan and less dirt can get inside, there is less wear and tear and less maintenance required.
Without fans, these motors generally run more quietly, which reduces noise levels.
With its NXD tupH® surface finish, NORD makes the surfaces of drive units with aluminium housings particularly corrosion-resistant. The NXD tupH finish consists of a base layer, which transforms the top layer of the aluminium body into a corrosion-resistant layer. The combination with a sealer achieves extreme resistance with better hardness compared to an untreated aluminium alloy.
This finish prevents flaking or corrosive infiltration, meaning that the protective effect remains intact even in the event of minor mechanical damage. The surface finish therefore offers major advantages when used in hygiene-critical areas in the food, beverage and packaging industries, as well as in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. NXD tupH® surfaces are PFAS-free and food-compliant in accordance with the FDA, EU Regulation 1935/2004 and the regulations of Switzerland and the MERCOSUR countries.
With the new product "CONDITION MONITORING for PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE", NORD provides an application solution to serve requests for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance as well as Industry 4.0 and IIoT.
