We look forward to seeing you there.
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is one of the world's leading manufacturers of mechanical and electronic drive systems. In addition to our headquarters in Bargteheide near Hamburg (Germany) we are represented worldwide in more than 60 countries with assembly plants and service centers.
With its NXD tupH® surface finish, NORD makes the surfaces of drive units with aluminium housings particularly corrosion-resistant. The NXD tupH finish consists of a base layer, which transforms the top layer of the aluminium body into a corrosion-resistant layer. The combination with a sealer achieves extreme resistance with better hardness compared to an untreated aluminium alloy.
This finish prevents flaking or corrosive infiltration, meaning that the protective effect remains intact even in the event of minor mechanical damage. The surface finish therefore offers major advantages when used in hygiene-critical areas in the food, beverage and packaging industries, as well as in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. NXD tupH® surfaces are PFAS-free and food-compliant in accordance with the FDA, EU Regulation 1935/2004 and the regulations of Switzerland and the MERCOSUR countries.
High-efficiency smooth-running motors from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS, featuring a hygienic and sealed design, offer several key advantages:
Thanks to their optimized efficiency (IE3 and IE5), they consume less electrical energy than motors in lower efficiency classes. This lowers operating costs and reduces energy consumption
The smooth surface without cooling fins prevents dirt, dust, or bacteria from accumulating. This makes the motors particularly easy to clean and ensures they meet high hygiene standards (e.g., in food or pharmaceutical facilities).
The motor is fully enclosed and has no fan openings. This prevents water, cleaning agents, dust, or particles from entering the interior.
Since there is no fan and less dirt can enter, there is less wear and tear and fewer maintenance tasks.
Without a fan, these motors typically run more quietly, which reduces noise pollution.
NORDAC ON/ON+ VFDs were developed to meet the special requirements of horizontal conveyor technology and for use with the new IE5+ synchronous motor (NORDAC ON+). They are characterized by an integrated Ethernet interface, full Plug-&-Play capabilities, and a very compact design. NORDAC ON/ON+ variable frequency drives are a reliable, economic solution for IIoT environments. The NORDAC ON PURE will soon be available as a decentralised frequency inverter with NXD tupH® surface.
With our latest IE5+ motor generation, we offer highly efficient solutions for significantly reducing energy and resource consumption in industry. Now, the performance range of compact permanent magnet synchronous motors is being significantly expanded with a third size.
DuoDrive is a revolutionary geared motor concept integrated into a hygienic version for humid environments. It combines the high-efficiency IE5+ motor with a single-stage helical gear reducer within a housing. With its optimized system efficiency, high power capacity, and very low noise emissions, it is particularly suitable for intralogistics, food processing, and pharmaceutical industries. Combined with simple commissioning via the ready-to-use device, a significant reduction in the total cost of ownership (TCO) is achieved compared to other drive systems used previously.
In addition to investment costs, operating costs represent a significant portion of the total cost of ownership (TCO). These costs primarily consist of energy costs, administrative expenses, and logistics and storage costs. Therefore, improving energy efficiency and implementing a reduction in variants are crucial factors in optimizing the profitability of a facility.
NORD's IE4 synchronous motors enable lower energy consumption and reduced operating costs for installations. These motors deliver their full energy-saving potential at partial load and speed operating points, such as those found on conveyor belts. Furthermore, a targeted reduction in variants minimizes administrative costs and reduces spare parts inventory.
Reduced operating costs generate savings each year, which improves the profitability of the facility.
